I started breeding fish at the early age of 12 years old. Fancy tail guppies of course. On my third hatch, I noticed a baby with 2 heads and began target feeding each head. I kept that fish alive for 2 weeks. That is what spawned my interest in breeding. I went from the usual guppies to mollies to African cichlids. I started my first saltwater tank in 1995 with the intention of breeding clownfish. I was told it could not be done as very few people have been able to accomplish such a task at this time. In 2003 I inherited my first pair of wild caught Black Darwins.
Within a few months, I obtained a second pair of wild caught Black Darwins. I bred them both with very limited success. One day my original female got a scratch on her head and within 2 days died from infection. Meanwhile back at the ranch, the other female was about to kill her mate for good reason…he was eating out of turn. I took the female from that pair and put it with my original male and that is where the magic began. My first successful hatch occurred on April 1st, 2012 and I’m not fooling. There were about 30 Zombies from that hatch most of which succumbed to new tank syndrome a year later. Three of those fish made their way to ORA about 4 years later.

for your continued support!
NONE of this would be possible if it weren’t for my supportive family, friends, and wonderful customers (many of whom have become friends). You have stood by me, supported me, listened, shared my good days and bad days, celebrated my accomplishments, and comforted me in my failures. I succeed today because of you and I can’t thank you enough!
